Bird trigonometry

All of the following pictures were taken during a walk in a suburban bushland.

Out of the blue a single Kookaburra came in sight, making strange body movements and occasionally calling. Another Kookaburra moved close. They met and were joined by a third individual and I think even a fourth. Three birds were positioned in a perfect, almost equilateral triangle. I took a video but they flew away when I tried to take a photo of the trio.

Some birds build their nests on a high voltage overhead transmission power pole. They obviously prefer to raise their offspring away from nature in an artificial metallic, sterile but maybe safe environment.

This bird was devouring a bug. It took plenty of time and some regurgitations, a decapitation of the bug before the meal seemed a success. When the branch was used as a tool, the bird's eye lids closed for protection. Finally, the bird hopped off the lichen covered branches.
