Tawny Frogmouth

Last weekend, I spotted a Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides). I had seen it in a local animal park before but never in the wild. The pair was sitting a couple of metres high on a tree. They seemed quite sleepy only occasionally opening their eyes halfway. They certainly could not earn money as models. But I am glad that I got a few pictures of them (only one individual is shown). Also allowing myself being a grog mouth, leaning back and enjoying a Tawny Port.

Open eyes, yay. Picture is cropped quite a bit and also lit up.

Picture is almost full size. I like that you can see the fore-head feathers and that the background looks a bit spooky.
